The
organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of
women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole
persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive
fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in
the global ministries of the church.
The Growing Christians UMW Group
The Growing Christians meet the third Tuesday night of each month at
6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. We have a light supper, then the lesson
from a book by Angela Thomas entitled Do You Think I’m Beautiful?
We are currently selling Epworth sweatshirts in two styles for $20.00
each. We invite any woman to join our group for fellowship and a
scripture-driven lesson.Reachers UMW Group
The Reachers UMW group meets the last Tuesday night of each mouth at
7:00 in the Questor's Sunday School classroom. We are starting a new
lesson book entitled Jesus' Parables of the Lost and Found by James
Moore on February 24 and would like to invite any women in the church
who would enjoy fellowship and Bible Study in a small group atmosphere.
Our projects include supporting the showering program at Open Door,
participating in the Golden Agers at Open Door, attending the District
Mission Studies, attending the School of Missions each July, and the
Conference Spiritual Growth Retreat at Epworth-by-the-Sea each March.
For the last 10 years, several of our members have had leadership roles
in Vacation Bible School at South Columbus UMC. We support all the
mission projects for women and children on the local, district, and
conference levels of UMW.
Come join us to know God and to participate in the global ministries of
the church! |
